Getting my 5 fingers on 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken

It’s appearing everywhere on my social media feed.
It’s calling out to me, I swear!

I had to have a go at the latest fast food phenomenon
that has taken Singapore by storm.
4 Fingers Crispy Chicken;
the partnership of 4 foodie friend
with promises of the best Koren-styled fried chicken.

As the name clearly suggest, the main highlights were chickens.
Diners were given a choice of either soy garlic or hot sauce
to be “hand painted” on those crispy chickens.

Hiroshi had 3 piece chicken drumstick (soy garlic) combo meal, that comes with a drink and fries. We were also given a choice of either kim chi skinny fries or seaweed red pepper skinny fires for our sides and we chose the later.

When we first sank our teeth into those tender drumsticks, it tasted different. It was very flavorful. But, I didn’t remember it being crispy. Nonetheless, Hiroshi polished the mass tin until kilat kilat!

Many diners were found upgrading their combo meal drinks to Honey Yuzu Tea or Honey Aloe Tea. We had the Honey Yuzu Tea, but the kids didn’t think much of it. Maybe the Honey Aloe Tea might be a better choice for kids?

Sophia had Tonkatsu Chicken Salad combo meal, which came with a drink and fries too.

The adventurous food lover was found picking at her food. She didn’t like it at all. I had to cover her in order to reduce food wastage. Now you know why the pregnancy bulge never wears off! It wasn’t that bad… But I wouldn’t say it tasted incredible too…

I love Calamari. So when I found it on the menu, it was a sure order for me.
Again we were given a choice of either soy garlic or hot sauce for the calamari. I chose soy garlic since I thought the kids might like some of my calamari too.

The squid was tender and the batter light. Love the idea of using a calamansi instead of the usual lemon. Making it very “local”. I personally enjoyed this one.

Overall dinning experience was pleasant.
The restraunt is extremely clean and spacious.

But, I won’t say that this was value for money. We spent on an average of $10/pax but the food just won’t cut it. At the end of my entire dinning experience, I couldn’t tell apart the chickens from squids anymore… They all just tasted like soy garlic.

But still, I’ll say go try it for yourselves and let me know if you felt differently.
(oh… and do be expected to battle a long queue during peak hours)

Creamier Handcrafted Ice Cream and Coffee | Best Waffle Ice Cream EVER!

I’m not too sure if it is a good idea
to have your nieces and nephews following you on Social Media…

And this is WHY…

Recently, Hiroshi (@hellohiroshi) started following his aunt on instagram.
He faithfully stalked, liked and commented at every food picture that was posted.
Ivy's instagram on Creamier Ice Cream Waffle At Toa Payoh

Eventually the obligating aunt had no choice but to bring the kids out for an ice cream treat over pinky instagram promise.

In contrast of sleepy town at Blk 128 Toa Payoh Lorong 1,
the Ice Cream Parlor; Creamier was buzzing with activity.

The Belgian waffle is one of the best I had in a long long time! Crispy on the outside, but yet fluffy inside. Warm waffle with Delectable Creamy Ice Cream send joy down my rumbling tummy.

Every flavor tasted exquisite. It was hard picking out which was our favorite. I personally love Thai Milk Tea. Creamy with a tinge of tea fragrance.

On the overall, Creamier has far exceed our expectation in terms of food quality.

Extremely reasonable pricing.
My pockets were smiling, not because the bill was dirt cheap…
but because Auntie Ivy was BUYING! 🙂
(Waffle with ice cream cost $8.50. Extra scoop of ice cream is $2.50 each.
There is an additional charge of $0.80/scoop for Premium ice cream.)

It is a cozy environment, but be prepared to eat your ice cream Elbow to Elbow or sit Butt to Butt because it get incredibly crowded during peak hours!

Thank you Auntie Ivy for that AWESOME Ice Cream Treat.
I believed Hiroshi has also liked your instagram photo of the Standing Sushi Bar.
Heeheehee… Now you know why having nieces and nephews following you on social media ain’t such a good idea afterall right?!?!?

Marina South Curry House | More than just Curry!

Tucked at the 3rd level of a quiet corner in the newly renovated 100 am (which was formerly known as Amara Shopping Center) lies Marina South Curry House. The restaurant’s retro ambiance reminds me very much of a cosy kopitiam and it would have been PERFECTLY 70s, if they had Rediffusion as well! 🙂

Assorted Drinks that doesn’t come from a Can!! Truly healthier choice!
Marina Curry House Drinks Buah Long Long

I am surprised to find Iced Buah Long Long in the menu. Very few places in Singapore offers this refreshing treat! This is a MUST HAVE!

What’s a Curry House without the Curry?
Left: Red Curry Chicken (Individual Portion: $6.90 Sharing: $14.90)
Right: Green Curry Chicken (Individual Portion: $6.90 Sharing: $14.90)
Bottom: Toasted Baguette ($1.20)

In total, there are 13 different varieties of curries on the menu. With that many varieties, I think Marina South Curry House can be dubbed as CURRY KING of Singapore!

Even though the spicy red curries from Marina South Curry House were well loved by its regular patrons, I personally find the yellow and green curries more enjoyable.

My ULTIMATE Favorite dish of the night!
Salted Egg Chicken Wing ($12.90)
It’s in my opinion, die-die-MUST-have!!
